In a single family house or in an apartment the optical access fibres are typically terminated to a small termination box. Termination box may be installed in the home distributor cabinet of the single family house or the apartment. In a single family house the termination box may also be installed on the outside wall of the house - in this case an additional cabling through the wall from termination box into the inside of the house is needed.
When planning the location of termination box issues like protection and data security should be taken into consideration.
Termination boxes usually have capacity for 4-24 fibres.
