Nestor Cables Ltd and Nestor Cables Baltics OÜ are returning to Finnish ownership. The only Finnish manufacturer of fibre optic cables and related accessories, Nestor Cables, is moving back to Finnish entrepreneurial ownership as Aleksanteri Pyrrö and Aki Eklund acquire the entire shareholding of Nestor Cables Ltd from U.S.-based Clearfield Inc. The new ownership structure stabilizes European production and strengthens security of supply.

Following the acquisition, the company will be able to focus more strongly on its core expertise and reinforce cable production at its Oulu plant. Communication networks are part of the critical infrastructure, and the coverage of fibre optic networks is a key element of regional accessibility and preparedness. Developing a company under Finnish ownership and ensuring continuity is also risk management: disruptions in supply chains and cable damage can increase societal vulnerability, which is why having local capacity and short delivery distances is a strategic advantage.

Nestor Cables will continue its growth in selected export markets. The growth strategy will increasingly focus on boosting exports and developing international markets. The long-standing cooperation with Clearfield Inc will also continue in the future.

We are taking Nestor Cables to the next stage by investing in products that perform in Finnish winter conditions and scale to Europe and globally,” says new CEO Aleksanteri Pyrrö.

Nestor Cables is a Finnish developer and manufacturer of fibre optic solutions, offering cables, microducts, and installation accessories. The company’s main factory is located in Oulu, Finland, and its subsidiary Nestor Cables Baltics OÜ operates in Tabasalu, Estonia. Nestor Cables delivers solutions for backbone, regional, and property networks as well as special applications, supporting customers from design to deployment. The company employs over 120 people in total.
